About Beltside
A small editorial site about the part of a trip that happens between landing and leaving the terminal.
Why “Beltside”
The name comes from a spot every traveller knows: the patch of floor beside the baggage belt where you stand, watch other people's bags go by and wait for your own. It is a place where nothing is happening and a lot is at stake, which is a good starting point for stories about bags, delays and the small decisions that decide how a trip begins.
Who publishes it
Beltside is published by TwoTwoSix Pty Ltd, an Australian proprietary company (ABN 42 608 482 506). The full registration details, the business address and a link to the public register are on the business details page. You can reach the team on info@liveworkspaces.com or 0450 531 497.
How a story gets written
- It starts with a scene that travellers will recognise, not with a product.
- Every figure needs a named source that you can open: an industry report, an airline's own policy page, a manufacturer's documentation. Sources are listed at the bottom of each page.
- Airline rules are quoted as they stand on the airline's site and labelled as that airline's rules, because they differ from one carrier to the next.
- Prices are a rounded guide, shown with the word “about”, because they change from day to day. The link goes to the seller, whose listing shows the current figure.
How the site earns money
Some links on this site go to online sellers, and Beltside earns a commission when a reader buys after following one. Those links are marked as advertising, they open the seller's own page, and they do not change what we write about a product's limits. If a gadget is wrong for you, for example because you use an Android phone, the story says so.
What Beltside is not
It is not an airline, an airport, an insurer or a claims service, and it cannot trace a bag or settle a claim. If your bag is missing, go to your airline's baggage service first. The tracker buying guide sets out the usual order of events.
Corrections
If you spot something that is out of date or wrong, write to info@liveworkspaces.com with the page and the line. We would rather fix it than leave it.
